I was thinking that any LearnWake member (ones with current subscriptions, and ones that have expired) can log their data into the app. However, premium features like “graphing and statistics” are only shown for members that have current LearnWake subscriptions. That way, if someone takes a break from LearnWake, they can still log their data into the system, so it is there when they are ready to resubscribe to LearnWake. Whatcha guys think about that?
Sounds like a nice add-on but I’m not sure how many people would actually use this function. I guess many people cancel their subscription when their season is over, so they won’t be landing anything new afterwards. If they’re still riding but didn’t renew their subscription, I dont think they’ll have the relex of logging on to learnwake to add data, especially since they won’t be able to see the graphs and stats right away.
Besides, if they cancel their subscription to learnwake, they won’t be landing any new trick ;P

True
Honestly, I’m looking at it as a “free service” that we provide to get people to come to LearnWake, and hopefully convert those users into active subscriptions. I haven’t talked with Kyle about this, but I’ve even thought of just having this be a free app altogether to help market LearnWake. It’s a fine line, because we want to offer our subscribers a premium service, and not have them feel ripped off, but at the same time we need to generate interest from non-subscribers to help our website grow faster.
I don’t know that a trick app would necessarily sway me toward or away from purchasing a subscription. I think it would generate a lot of interest if it were a free iphone/pod/pad app simply because people like free stuff.
But the sample videos on the main page and your youtube videos were what brought me here (I’d imagine that is what brought everyone here). That and also knowing you guys did The Book dvds was what sealed the deal for me. I was looking for that next level of coaching beyond The Book dvds without having to plan a huge trip to a wake camp.
