Inverts

Some might argue that inverts are easier than spins. When doing an invert, the rope provides your axis of rotation, much like a wheel on a car axle or a propeller on a plane. In contrast, spinning requires you to set your own axis. Flipping around the rope axis can be easier, but once you get to some of the more technical inverts, getting the correct rotational position can rival some spins in difficulty, so the debate goes unsettled. Start with the base inverts to make sure that you have a solid foundation and technique, then advance to combining flips with spins and decide for yourself which is harder.
